Kitchen Renovations Freshwater

Freshwater homes come in all shapes, and so do their kitchens. If yours is worn out, awkwardly laid out or short on storage, James can fix that. As the owner of Red Hot Kitchens, he comes to your place, takes the measurements and puts together a free quote. He then stays your only contact for the rest of the project, handling the design, the supply of materials and the installation himself. Our cabinetry is built specifically for your room instead of being pulled from a catalogue of stock sizes, and because the business is lean, the pricing stays competitive. Whether you live in an apartment near the beach or a house a few streets back, the approach doesn’t change.

Modern kitchen with white cabinets, light wood, and a large island, reflecting quality kitchen renovations in Freshwater.

Kitchens Across Freshwater

Freshwater sits between the beach and the hills, and its kitchens reflect that. Near the village and the sand, you’ll find low-rise apartment blocks built between the 1960s and 1980s, usually with small galley or L-shaped kitchens. A few streets back are freestanding cottages and brick family homes, many from the mid-century, where the kitchen has kept the same layout for decades. Because space is often tight, smart storage tends to matter more than extra square metres.

Services in Freshwater

Full Kitchen Renovations

Out with the old and in with the new: demolition, cabinetry, benchtops, layout changes and finishes, all booked in and sequenced by James.

Giving the bathroom a refresh too? James can handle it in the same project, so you still only have one person to call.

Our Renovation Process in Freshwater

Here’s how a Freshwater job runs from start to finish:

Design (about a week)

Together with James you decide on layout, door style, benchtop and colours.

Production (4–5 weeks)

With the design approved, your kitchen is made before anyone starts work on site.

Installation (3–4 weeks)

After strip-out, James brings in the electrician, plumber and finishing trades in the right sequence.

Access & Delivery

Got an apartment? Lift and loading bookings are sorted before delivery day. Got a house? James looks at parking and the route to your kitchen when he quotes.

Recent Work in Freshwater

Take a look at some of our recent kitchen work in Freshwater, completed with practical layouts, quality finishes and the needs of each homeowner in mind.

Kitchen Renovation

This Freshwater kitchen has a classic, light feel, with white shaker-style cabinetry, black handles and a vertical-groove tile splashback. A stainless steel fridge, built-in oven, gas cooktop and dishwasher sit neatly within the layout, and under-cabinet lighting runs along the benchtop. Open shelving breaks up the cabinetry, and the large window brings in plenty of light, with room for a dining table in the same space. James looked after the project from design through to handover, as the owners’ single point of contact.

Door Reface

This Freshwater door reface is a good example of how much a simple, budget-friendly update can achieve. New white laminate doors with slim bar handles were fitted to the existing carcass, giving this compact U-shaped kitchen a clean, modern look. With the layout left as it was, the result shows that a reface doesn’t have to cost a lot to make a real difference.
Not sure whether your Freshwater kitchen needs a full renovation or a reface? Book a free measure and James will look at what you already have, explain your options and give you a clear quote with no obligation.

Why Freshwater Locals Choose Red Hot Kitchens

Red Hot Kitchens is owned and run by James, so the person who measures up is the same person who builds and manages your kitchen. A joinery licence and over seven years of local experience in kitchen renovations across the Northern Beaches back up that approach, and pricing is kept competitive without trimming the quality of the build.

James recently did a kitchen refresh by replacing the doors. James was really helpful in figuring out what the best way to update our kitchen with the budget we had. James was professional in his approach, very knowledgeable with kitchens and helped solve a few problems created by the old kitchen. I would highly recommend James to do any kitchen refurbs or refreshes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need strata approval to renovate a Freshwater apartment?

Yes, when your unit is in a strata scheme, the owners corporation has to give approval before work begins. James can provide the information they ask for, but the application is yours to submit. Council approval isn’t part of his renovation work.

It can be. Streets close to the beach and Freshwater Village fill up fast, and some blocks have little loading space. Before you commit, James checks how deliveries and tradies will get in and out, then schedules around it so the job doesn’t stall.

From design to handover, expect three stages: around a week of design, then 4–5 weeks to build the kitchen after sign-off, then 3–4 weeks to install it. In apartments, carrying materials up in a lift or stairwell can affect timing, and James allows for it in the quote.

Yes. There’s no standard template: James designs around the shape of your room, whatever the era of the house, and plans storage carefully when the footprint is small.
